Obituary

Paul Kendall Fulkerson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at the age of 80. He was born on November 12, 1940, to James and Eula Kate (Baskett) Fulkerson in Blountville, Tennessee. Paul was the youngest of four children with two brothers and a sister.

Paul was married to Linda and they spent 23 years together having fun traveling, hosting parties, and going on casino trips with their friends.

Paul was a dedicated golfer and an avid sailor who enjoyed being on the Great Lakes.

Paul was most proud of his service in the United States Navy and was especially proud of being picked to go on President Eisenhower’s “Around the World” Peace Tour in 1960 aboard the USS Canberra.

Paul’s post-military career was spent in the trucking business. His last position before retiring as Vice President of Operations for his employer.

He is survived by his wife Linda; two sons and three grandchildren: Erik (Michele) Fulkerson and their daughter Clara, and Matthew (Jennifer) Fulkerson and their children Lily and Jack.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A memorial service will be celebrated by Pastor Sean Kidd at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. Under the auspices of the Kent County Veteran’s Honor Guard and the United States Navy, military honors will be presented immediately following the service.

Interment will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery in his beloved East Tennessee.
