Orlando McKenzie of Allegan, passed away peacefully at his home after his 5½ year battle with cancer on Thursday, January 30, 2020, with his family and friends alongside of him. Orlando was born October 24, 1958 in Alice, Texas, the son of Mary and Oscar McKenzie. On August 3, 2001 he married Angela (Key) McKenzie also of Allegan, where they resided.

Orlando had multiple odds and end jobs as he always liked to be doing something different, one of which was painting homes with his brother and father. Aside, from the odds and end jobs he loved to spend time with his family, especially his wife, children and 16 grandkids. If you were wondering where Orlando was you bet you could find him at one of his grandkids sporting events, or out going for a cruise with his beloved wife. Having summer parties and BBQs were a ritual for Orlando, with plenty of music, good food, and friends, which he had a lot of.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Angela McKenzie, his four children; Chad (Lauren) McKenzie, Gabe McKenzie, Angela (Chris) Miller, and Annemarie McKenzie, 3 step-daughters Tiffany (David) Arens, Brooke (Danny) Boerman, and Shyann (Rikko) Rivera, 16 grandchildren and one more on the way; Harper, Brock & Morgin McKenzie, Paul Scheidel, Emma & Laura McKenzie – Zeran, Trienne, Jaxson, Remi, & Everly Miller, Aidan, Jaxon & Gracie Arens, Breslin Boerman, and Henslee & Jayce Rivera, 3 Sisters; Martha ( Jerry) Davenport, Noelia ( Dennis ) Ross, Esther (Kevin) Grindstaff, 2 Brothers; Oscar (Shar) McKenzie, Arthur “Mac” (Nancy) McKenzie, along with many other close friends and family members.

Per his wishes Orlando was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be thrown at a later date by his family & friends.

So sorry will miss his laugh and just stopping in to say hi. Lon was the only one that would pull in the driveway honking his horn just to let us know that he was here.
