Obituary

Lee Clifford Worthington of Wyoming, Michigan, age 76, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021. He was born to Clifford and Bernice (Clair) Worthington on September 16,1944, in Allegan, Michigan.

Lee was the youngest of three children and had a love for friends and the outdoors. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University and went on to find success in education, sales and ultimately as the owner operator of his own Allstate Insurance agency in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Lee loved telling a humorous joke and a good game of cards when he wasn’t out hunting or fishing for a limit of bluegills. He was a hard worker and was always willing to help cut wood with his mighty chain saw and kept his cars, house and equipment in top-notch shape.

Lee is survived by his daughter Michelle Lee Worthington, step-son Brian Bruno, nephews Jeff and Ken Worthington and their extended families. Lee is missed by his many friends who he kept in close contact with on a weekly basis.
It was Lee’s wish to recognize honorary pallbearers Darrell Gregory, Bud Vanderlaan, Pete Gruzin, Bob Colburn, Jeff Worthington, and Lonnie Underwood.

Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to River City Bass Club, 1366 Sunnyside Street NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525 This is a non-profit organization that helps get kids with cancer or other life threatening illness to be outfitted with tackle and a day fishing with local pros and experienced fisherman.

I have the most wonderful memory of having dinner with Mr. Worthington celebrating his most treasured gift, Michelle. He was beaming with pride the evening we celebrated Michelle’s graduation from Northwestern’s PA Program. He will be greatly missed, but I know his best qualities will live on in Michelle. My deepest sympathies Worthington Family. Love, Ryan
