Fyffe, Laura Mae 8/22/1929 - 1/16/2020 Rockford Laura Mae Fyffe, aged 90, of Rockford, Mi. passed away January 16, 2020. Laura was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 55 years, Bill, and her parents Frank and Marian Hazard. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis, her daughter and son-in-law Gayle and Francis Cloutier, and her brothers, Forrest, Jack and George Hazard. She leaves to mourn her loss; her son Michael (Kathleen) of Rockford, her grandsons Ben Cherry of Columbus Ohio, and Thomas Bosscher of Kentwood, her granddaughter Colleen (Brandon) Softsky, and great granddaughter Katetlyn Softsky of Johnstown, Ohio. Additionally, Laura is survived by her sister-in-law, Myrtle Cook of Waterloo, Nebraska along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Laura was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1929. Laura and Bill moved the family first to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and then Sioux City, Iowa. Finally, the family moved to Kentwood in 1969 where she remained for the remainder of her life. Laura held various positions over many years of service before retiring from the United States Postal Service. Laura especially enjoyed being a member of various dance groups … ranging from square dancing, to line dancing , to being a member of the Senior Steppers. Laura was a committed and active member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Kentwood for over 40 years. The family wishes to express special appreciation to the staff at Boulder Creek Memory Care and Faith Hospice for the kindness and loving care given to Laura during her final months. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Plans for a memorial service are pending.
