Obituary

Glen C. Schroeder aged 76 passed away Monday, May 4, 2020. Glen was born on January 5, 1944 in Flint Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents Florence May and Edward Robert Schroeder and sisters Freda and Ruth Jennings and Mary McCarty.

Glen loved his family fiercely and is watching over his “bride” of 53 years, Marilyn, daughter, Traci Schroeder, daughter, Jennifer (Bill) Thornton and grandsons Joshua and Charles as well as many nieces, nephews and caring friends.

He attended Flint Central High School and graduated in 1962. After graduation, he entered into the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany for a period of time. After leaving the Army he returned to Flint where he started his career as an over the road truck driver. That career spanned for over 40 years and he retired from Pilot Transport. Glen’s trips took him all over the United States which eased his sense of adventure, but his favorite place was always home and spending time with family. Glen and Marilyn moved to Lupton Michigan in 2001 and he loved his little yellow house.

He had many interests, but was passionate about his family, especially his two grandsons, golf and taking care of his yard. He was on several weekly golf leagues in the summer and golfed whenever he had the chance and if he wasn’t golfing he was usually riding his lawn mower.

Glen will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He had a keen sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Glen. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids. Http://faithhospicecare.org
