George Bylsma, what can one say about this man in a short memory? He was the best at kidding, teasing and telling stories. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face (at least from a neighbor's (mine) point of view). As I type this, I can hear his laugh - one of a kind laugh. George and Kris were my neighbors while they lived on Burton Street, near Calvin College. We shared the same landlord. We used to sit outside and he would play with my dog(s) Abby and later Lucky. He would just laugh at their antics while we talked about the latest gossip in the neighborhood. There were so many neighbors that we all knew and kept in touch with, including my father, Joe. We all lived in duplexes around one another. Everyone knew George, but of all the neighbors around there, I was the one that visited him and Kris most often. I used to love to hear call his wife, "Cassey", a pet name I'm sure. I can hear him say: "Cassey, come to the phone, Judi's waiting for you." Then him and I would chat a bit while waiting for Kris to pick up the phone. Now he's up there with the Lord, and he now knows ALL of it. He certainly was a handsome man, wasn't he? I love the photo posted here. As a Catholic lady, we used to talk about our different religious beliefs and I'm wondering, with a smile, what he thinks now that he's up there and knows the whole truth. I'm down here wishing him peace.
